Since 2014

A bakery first. The oven never left.

Tavola opened in a former bakery on Via Panisperna. The oven is still here, so is the baker’s daughter, who now runs the floor.

Twelve tables. Two windows. One bar.

Sun on the tables at lunch, bulbs at night. Nothing in here is new except the bread.

The regulars

They come back on Fridays.

Twelve tables and no marketing budget. This is what people tell us on the way out.

We came for the cacio e pepe and stayed until they closed the kitchen. Then we stayed at the bar.

Marco

Table six, most Fridays

I asked what the fish was. The answer was a ten minute story about a man in Fiumicino.

Elena

Came for lunch, left at four

Booked for two. Ended up sharing the tagliere with the table next to us.

Sofia

First visit, not the last

The artichokes were gone by nine. I have never been so annoyed at a website for being honest.

Daniele

Still thinking about the artichokes

Twelve tables means you can hear the kitchen. I like hearing the kitchen.

Chiara

Sits at the bar

My mother is from Rome and she approved of the amatriciana. That took forty years.

Luca

Brought his mother, twice

Eight in the evening

Every table full by nine.

The kitchen closes at 23:00. The bar doesn’t.
